AMHS Online Learning Terms of Service

Welcome to the Australasian Metabolic Health Society (AMHS) online learning platform. By enrolling in any AMHS course, including but not limited to the Essentials in Metabolic Health program, you agree to be bound by the following Terms of Service. These terms apply to all current and future courses offered by AMHS.

Enrolment and Access

Account Creation

To access our courses, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

Course Access Duration

The duration of your access to course materials varies depending on the specific course you have purchased. The access period will be clearly stated on the course enrolment page at the time of purchase. Once the access period expires, your ability to view the course materials will cease.

Non-Transferable Access

Your course enrolment and account access are strictly personal and non-transferable. You may not share your login credentials, course materials, or any other content with third parties.

Refund Policy

Non-Refundable Purchase

Due to the digital nature of our educational content and immediate access to course materials upon enrolment, all purchases of AMHS courses are final and strictly non-refundable.

No Exceptions

Once you have completed your purchase and gained access to the course platform, we are unable to process any refunds, cancellations, or exchanges, regardless of whether you have accessed the materials, completed the course, or changed your mind.

Intellectual Property and Usage Rights

Ownership

All course materials, including videos, presentations, documents, text, graphics, and other content provided within the AMHS platform, are the exclusive intellectual property of AMHS and its respective instructors or content creators.

Limited Licence

Upon enrolment, AMHS grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and view the course materials solely for your personal, educational, and non-commercial use.

Prohibited Actions

You are strictly prohibited from copying, downloading, reproducing, distributing, modifying, republishing, displaying, posting, or transmitting any course content in any form or by any means without prior written permission from AMHS.

Student Responsibilities and Conduct

Professional Conduct

You agree to engage with the course platform, instructors, and fellow students in a professional and respectful manner. Harassment, abusive language, or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in immediate termination of your course access without refund.

Course Completion

The completion of any course and the achievement of any associated learning outcomes are solely your responsibility. AMHS does not guarantee specific results or professional advancements as a result of completing our courses.

Technical Requirements

System Requirements

It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the necessary technical equipment, software, and internet connection required to access and participate in the courses. AMHS is not responsible for any inability to access the course due to your technical limitations.

AMHS provides the courses “as is” and makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of the course content.

Limitation of Damages

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, AMHS and its instructors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the courses or course materials.

Modifications to Terms

AMHS reserves the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website. Your continued use of the course platform following the posting of revised terms constitutes your acceptance of such changes.

Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Australia. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Australian courts.

By completing your enrolment and purchasing an AMHS course, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Course Terms of Service.

In-Person Events Cancellation Fee Policy

Our cancellation fee is in place to cover the costs incurred by AMHS when a service you’ve purchased is cancelled close to the delivery date. This fee is in addition to any administration fees and is necessary due to commitments we have made to third parties, such as booking venues for conferences or workshops. It also compensates for opportunity costs, like the lost chance to fill the spot through marketing if there’s insufficient time to do so.

Fee Structure:

The cancellation fee varies based on the service type and the timing of the cancellation. Specific details are usually provided on the product page for each service on our website. Below is a general outline of our fee structure:

For In-Person Services (Workshops, Conferences, Training, Seminars):

  • Over 30 Days Notice: Cancellations made more than 30 days before the event or course will incur a $45 administration fee to help cover administrative costs and fees incurred.
  • Within 30 Days: If you cancel within 30 days of the event, the fee is $55 per registered day. For instance, a two-day conference would incur a maximum fee of $110.
  • 7-Day Notice: If you cancel within 7 days of the event, the fee increases to $110 per registered day. For a two-day conference, this would mean a maximum fee of $120.

We know plans change, and we aim to be fair while honoring our commitments to provide these services. If you have any questions or need to discuss a specific cancellation, please don’t hesitate to contact us at: ausmetabolichealthsoc@gmail.com
