Catherine is an academic pharmacist (RegPharmNZ #7184) with a strong interest in hyperinsulinaemia as a unifying feature of metabolic disease. Her current research focuses on the non-glycaemic challenges of hyperinsulinaemia – such as its impact on bones. She has a strong interest in good data collection and interpretation, leading to research in wearable devices and genAI tools.

An upcoming research topic for Catherine will be on the GLP1-receptor agonists, as she is concerned about their use. She sees the parallels between GLP1 use and that of insulin: expanding use without understanding their mechanism of action in the evolutionary sense, leading to resistance and unforeseen sequelae which increases disease burden in the long-term.
